19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been achieved on hard courts
A revitalized the Russian player won his maiden championship for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has endured a difficult season, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.
The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in specific - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now working with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
It is Medvedev's initial trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface from March of that year.
The win also means he has secured 21 titles at twenty-one various competitions.
"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a title is particularly special," commented ranked player Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six finals, including in Halle in the past months.
Medvedev's defensive play style and regular reactions on the tennis court had led some to wonder if his skill to perform at the elite level was finished.
Yet the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and play aggressively, backed up by an improved service.
Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, securing four of the last five points to gain the advantage.
Both players traded breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden tour championship, gained dominance to force a final set.
Moutet saved four initial break points in a close final set before the Russian broke to 15 to secure the win.
Appropriately, he earned victory with a point at the net area, with Moutet incapable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
